Guantanamo is 200 miles from Port-au-Prince. If Guantanamo is that close to Haiti, so is Cuba. So why haven't we heard of relief efforts from Cuba?

I don't know why you haven't heard. Cuba maintains a gigantic medical humanitarian program for Central and South American countries. Left unmentioned is the reality that Cuba already had over 400 doctors posted to Haiti to help with the day-to-day health needs of this poorest nation in the Americas, and that those doctors were the first to respond to the disaster, setting up a hospital right next to the main hospital in Port-au-Prince which collapsed in the earthquake..

Cuba has been one of the most effective and critical responders to the crisis, because it had set up a medical infrastructure before the quake, which was able to mobilize quickly and start treating the victims.

On top of that, Cuba sent 30 more doctors upon occurrence of the quake. They were immediately en route.

US media also forgot to mention that an aid flight from Cuba did not receive permission from the US Air Force to land at Port-au-Prince airport.

Fox News criticized Cuba for doing nothing as neighbors die. CNN edits out all mentions of Cuba from its reporters.

Why has no one mentioned Haiti is another "Cuban run" country as are many others in the region? Give the CASTRO brothers credit for what they do. Someone has to grow the cocaine for the US drug dealers.
